 The Vermilion Township Road Department consists of two full-time employees Steve Young and Justin Plas who are responsible for maintaining 21.7 miles of Vermilion Township roads and to ensure roads remain in good condition, with the exception of all state routes/highways and county roads.

The Road Department has the equipment needed to handle the worst northern Ohio winters and prides itself on being able to maintain safe road conditions through the winter season.

Services provided are repair of the roads with hot mix and cold patch, crack sealing, black mat, chip and seal, berming, roadside ditch cleaning, snow plowing, sign maintenance, roadside mowing, tree and brush trimming within road right of way, culvert maintenance and replacement erosion control and Dura patching.

A standard roadside condition is maintaining an open drainage ditch.  Anyone wishing to drain anything into the ditch or to enclose ditch by installing a pipe must obtain permission from the Road Department or Township Trustees.  Any installation of pipe or other structure within the road right of way also requires permission from the Road Department or Township Trustees.

• 1996 and 2000 4900 International dump truck with 11’ snow plow and salt spreader
• 1995 Chevy pick-up truck with 7.5’ snow plow
• 2008 F-450 1 ton dump truck with 9’ snow plow and 7’ broom and salt spreader
• 1997 John Deere 5400 tractor with 5’ flail side mower
• 7’ rear mount flail mower
• 2006 6715 John Deere tractor with a 24’ boom and 5’ flail mower, ditcher and a 4’ buzz bar for tree trimming
• 12” Vemmeer wood chipper
• Dura patcher
• 25 cubic yard leaf vacuum
• 1958 MFG tractor with brush hog and rear scraper
• Hand tools
