Requirements for Obtaining a Zoning Permit
Prior to Construction of any Buildings or Structures
1. Application for ZONING PERMIT completed in duplicate.
2. Copy of ERIE COUNTY SANITATION PERMIT. (Septic)
Obtained from the Erie County Health District, 420 Superior St., Sandusky - 419-626-5623
3. Copy of ERIE COUNTY STORMWATER PERMIT
Obtained from the Erie County Engineers Office, 2700 Columbus Ave. Sandusky - 419- 627-7710
4. Copy of DRIVEWAY PERMIT (Twp.,County, or State) Obtained from:
Township Road - Vermilion Twp. Fiscal Officer - 1907 S.R.60,PO Box 83, Vermilion - 440-967-3251
County Road - Erie County Engineers Office, 2700 Columbus Ave., Sandusky - 419-627-7710
State Road -Ohio Department of Transportation, 906 N.Clark St., Ashland, Ohio 44805 -1-800-276-4188
5. Plot Plan of property showing location of proposed structure on the property.
6. Minimum Set-Backs: (Residential Only)
A. Side Yard 10 feet
B. Rear Yard 25 feet
C. Front Yard 50 feet from Road-Right-of-Way
7. Set of Blueprints (or floor plan) of structure with all changes noted. The
blueprints will not be returned and will remain on file.
8. All of the afore mentioned must be filed with the VERMILION TOWNSHIP
ZONING INSPECTOR and a ZONING PERMIT issued prior to the start of
Construction.
9. The Zoning Inspector must issue or deny the application within thirty (30) days from
Submission date.
10. It may be necessary to obtain a RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PERMIT/ and or
a RESIDENTIAL PLUMBING PERMIT.
